Known to locals as NMB, North Miami Beach Florida has grown in popularity as businesses and people have been flocking to its’ first class restaurants, shops and restaurants to get away from the hectic, and overcrowded South Miami Beach. Back in 1938 the population ranked at 2,129 and now in 2007 NMB is home to over 40,000 people. What’s the Weather like in Miami?

Miami has always been lucky to benefit from great weather throughout the year. When the north is salting their sidewalks, and shoveling their driveways, we are carrying our picniuc baskets, coolers, rafts, and towels to the beach! However, it is not always perfect in Miami an we do have some set-backs. Check out the weather in Miami and find some answers to the most commonly asked questions.

HOW HOT DOES IT GET IN MIAMI?

The hottest months in Miami are July and August. The average highest temperature that occurs in August is 89.8 Fahrenheit. The highest temperature ever recorded was 100 degrees in July of 1942.

HOW COLD DOES IT GET?

It does get colder at times, and usually in January. When November hits the temperature drops a bit and most people are more comfortable. The average low temperature in January that has been recorded is 59.5 F.

HOW OFTEN DO HURRICANES HAPPEN?

Southeast Florida usually is hit by some category of hurricane every four years. Categories 1 and 2 are generally not life threatening, but people should use caution and wait until they are advised to leave their homes, or workplace. Major hurricanes that are category 3 or higher happen less frequently.

HOW OFTEN DOES IT RAIN IN MIAMI AND WHEN?

In Miami we receive approximately 60 inches of rain every year. Miami has some precipitation every month, but the rain usually falls the most in June, August, and September. The driest months in Miami are December, January and February.

DOES IT EVER SNOW IN MIAMI?

It snowed only once back in January 19, 1977. Miami received its only recorded snowfall and it was only flurries.

Plan Your Trip Ahead of Time!

For your trip to be successful, it is important to plan ahead of time, and to know where you are heading and how to get there safely while enjoying a smooth travel experience. Check out these travel tips to get started on your adventure!

Tip #1: Always remember to carry a valid passport whenever you travel outside of your own country. It is the only proof of your nationality and identity that is accepted in all countries.

Tip #2: When people travel to the United States it is important and essential that you take your passport even if you are traveling onto another country, or taking a cruise in and out of ports of call.

Tip #3:Unlike a driver’s licence or birth certificate, a passport can be replaced if it is lost, damaged, destroyed, stolen or inaccessible on your trip.

Tip #4: Try to apply for a passport during off-season, between July and November.

Tip #5: A passport will usually be required for any legal or financial transactions.

Tip #6: Remember to sign your passport on page 3, and fill in your current address and the name of a person to contact in case of emergency on page 4.

Tip #7: Ensure that you are carrying a valid passport. Check that the expiry date of the passport is well beyond your return date.

Tip #8: Make two photocopies of the identification page of the passport.
